Carved Bowl by customer Ed Koenig

Ed purchased this cocobolo at this years AAW Symposium in Richmond, VA.
He got a beautiful dead cocobolo log that had fallen many years ago in the mountains of central Mexico.
No bark or sapwood was on the log.
The center pith was very tight too.
Some of the nicest color comes from these logs.
The Mexican Forestry requires us to have these logs in our inventory when we bring cocobolo from the cutting sites.
I feel it will not be long before cocobolo is listed on CITIES and not available as a commercial wood as it is now.
I am hoping in the future we will be able to get CITIES permits for "dead" cocobolo trees, but this will be very expensive.
