Wow! Look what just came up from our sawmill...

We haven't carried this species in over 5 years!

One of the densest woods in the world, Partridgewood is a very tight grained exotic that is prized for ornamental turnings and other high-end projects.

This species is extremely hard to find so we were ecstatic when we received about 100 BF worth of turning squares in a variety of sizes.
(Sizes range from 1.5" to 4" square x lengths of mostly 8" and up)

If you are fan of very dense woods such as Lignum Vitae, Gidgee, Pau Santo and Katalox-we highly recommend picking up some Partridgewood while we have it (which doesn't happen very often!)

Cocobolo canine statue by Chris Kaiser of Abiszet Creations

Chris dropped by the shop today to pick up some more Extra-Wide Cocobolo lumber for his hand crafted Saluki, Whippet and Afghan Hound statues.

He also brought in one of his best-selling designs to show us.

Amazing looking piece!

Chris uses a wide range of exotics which includes Ebony, Zebrawood, Purpleheart and Chechen but he says his favorite wood to work with (and best-selling as well) is our Mexican Cocobolo.

One of our first customers visits the shop!

Ray Greenhill has been a customer of ours for as long as we can remember.

Well into his nineties, Ray still has they same enthusiasm for woodworking that he had when we first met him all those years ago.

Here we have Ray picking up two large Cocobolo turning blanks to wood turn on his lathe.
