Black Heart Sassafras Coffee Table

Remember this slab? It was a real odd ball 2" slab that was laying around the shop for a few months. After receiving the new load of Australian slabs, we decided to take this one and make a Coffee table. We trimmed the edges so it would fit better in the living room it was going into and constructed a base out of a very dense piece of Balsa Lumber we had here at the shop.

Figured Primavera

*Figured primavera surfboard fin by John Cherry

We cut up a crotch of Figured Primavera back in June and discovered some wild looking figure.

We took most of the remaining stock to the AAW show in Richmond, and sold out of the stuff almost immediately. It almost has a blond macassar ebony look to it with very tight curl.

We've been looking for more of the same figured wood and just received about 100bf of it in our last shipment from from our mill in Mexico.

As you can see in the pictures it mostly bigger bowl blanks and full logs. Give us a call if you have more questions. 760-434-3030

-These are the bowl blanks 3-4.5" thick

-There are a few crotch pieces in the batch as well.

-Those are full logs under the bowl blanks

Ribbon Series by Warren Aut

Sent to us by our good friend Warren Aut. His "Ribbon Series" uses many different woods such as mahogany, teak and other exotics. They can be seen in private collection such as the one pictured above. He is finishing up a leapardwood ribbon which should complete the series, it should look amazing.

For more visit his website http://www.warrenaut.com/

He uses cedar in the ribbon

Looks like Mahogany and Walnut for the base.
This one is made out of teak and rosewood
