New pallets of exotic shorts just in! Drop by the shop and dig through the new stock......

We just finished offloading multiple pallets of exotic shorts that we recently found stashed in an old warehouse.

Nearly 50% of it is 6/4 and 8/4 Wenge shorts (some 4/4) in random widths and lengths 36" and under (Many of you know how difficult it is to find thick Wenge these days...)

The other 50% is 8/4 Koa and 5/4 East Indian Rosewood in the same dimensions.

We don't have an exact price on this material just quite yet but plan on it being pretty cheap! (Like 40-50% our regular price!)

We are going through the stacks as we speak, feel free to drop by the shop and dig into the stack yourself!!!

Click here to view available lumber.

Billiard cue case by Richard Black

Our friend and longtime customer Richard Black recently sent us these images of a gorgeous billiard cue case he just completed using some of our Hawaiian Koa.

This particular piece of Koa was exceptionally figured with tight quilt/curl throughout the piece. It was part of an old stash of wood that we found roughly a year ago.

The cue that will be matched with this case will be unveiled at the International Cue Collectors Show that will be held in St. Louis, Missouri October 6-8, 2011.

We can't wait to get the images of the cue once it's unveiled!

Below are some images of Richard's case along with some of the original piece of lumber he purchase.

As always, excellent work Richard!

We are liking the new Koa!

We just couldn't help ourselves...

The new Koa shorts we received last week looked so good we decided to bring down the entire lift of lumber and surface them to see what they look like cleaned up-

Amazing stuff, just look at a handful of the pieces in the above picture!

Nice dark grained figure that would work perfectly for a wide range of projects. (Boxes, furniture, ukuleles, etc.)

Since we will be open tomorrow, Saturday March 26th 9:30-1:00, we will keep the lift down and accessible to all our walk-in customers.

Feel free to drop by the shop and dig through the stack of shorts and pick out your own pieces!

Can't make it to the shop?

The new Koa shorts are available to be purchases directly on our Online Store.

Give us a call if you would rather purchase over the phone, we can personally help you pick out some neat pieces before we sell out!

Mitch gets his Bing Surfboard restored by Steve Clark

Steve Clark ready to restore the old Bing

Mitch came across this old 60's Bing Surboard about 5 month ago

The condition of the board was a little "rough" to say the least.

Mitch dropped the board off with local surfboard shaper Steve Clark knowing that he is a master at doing these type of restorations.

Delamination, sun damage, numerous large dings, bubbled foam-this board needed alot of work.

Some of the past repair jobs had been done improperly, so pretty much a full restoration was required.

The best part about the board was the classic wood fin and wide redwood stringer.
Much like the rest of board, these also needed a bunch of work done.

Steve Clark does his magic again.

We couldn't believe our eyes when Steve dropped the board off about a week ago.

Everything including the incredible wood fin was fully restored to make the board look practically brand new.

We also love the way the blue contrasts with that great looking 1" wide redwood stringer

Besides these great restorations, Steve Clark also specializes in the construction of different wood surfboards such as the balsa big wave gun and the koa alaia pictured below.

Interested in some of Steve Clark's work?

Give him a call directly-he is one of the nicest (and talented) people we have ever met.
