We finally had time to add about 30 new species to our sample board at the front of the shop.
It always amazes us how unique some of these exotic species are.

Just refilled the exotic "off-cuts" bin!

We just dumped another two garbage bins full of exotics into the crate.
If we had more time we would probably be cleaning most of the pieces up into first quality stock. We need to clear up some space in the back asap, so our loss is your gain!

10 new Parota Crotch Slabs!

We just added these new slabs to the "slabs page" of our website.

5 of them are 96" long and roughly 50-60" wide (perfect for a dining table).
See these in Parota slab batch #2 (look for numbers 390-394)



The remaining pieces are longer than 10 feet and come in an assortment of widths.
See these longer slabs in Parota slab batch #3 (look for numbers 395-399)

Obviously these longer slabs would look great by themselves at full length, but they can also be cut down with enough material per slab for a top and base (that way you get matching material throughout the entire piece)



Overall, we are very happy with these new slabs. Great dimensions, fantastic color/grain and they all seasoned quite nicely down at our sawmill in Mexico after they were cut (so they are pretty much ready to be worked).

Just finished cleaning up the back of the shop and piled a whole bunch of neat exotic scraps into the "cut-off" bin.

Cocobolo, Bocote, Swiss Pear, and even some Macassar Ebony that was trimmed off the Clearance Macassar that just came in!

Drop on by the shop and dig through the pile and pick out what you want.

Hand Selected Swiss Steamed Pear!

This may be of interest to many of you-

A good customer of ours purchased about 500 BF of select grade Swiss Steamed Pear a while back for a project.

To make a long story short, he purchased more than he needed so he offered roughly 150 BF back to us.

Since we are wood nuts just like the rest of you, we just couldn't say no to this great looking, hand-selected stock!

Swiss pear is hard enough to find let alone with great figure and in fantastic dimensions (did we mention most of it has mottled/curly figure-yeah this stuff is nice!)

Also in the stack are about a dozen quartered to rift sawn pieces he had set aside for legs (see last picture below) Beautiful vertical grain material that can be resawn for guitar bodies, veneer, furniture, etc.


This is some pretty stock that is a steal at $14.50/BF (Mostly all 8/4 material)
